As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform Consultant when I create a new field either on an out of the box table, or as Custom table, I (naturally) assume every user of the system will know what data to enter into that field. But what if the data required is more complex? An example might be a description field where I want to help the user to add the correct type of information. How can you let them know what information the business expects?

Has the scenario ever arisen, when a client or multiple clients have wanted you to automatically send an email with an attachment from CRM, such as sales literature, to a customer to save staff a large proportion of their working day manually processing this on a day-to-day basis?

If anyone has ever taken a Microsoft exam in either Dynamics 365 or, going back further, Dynamics CRM, you'll be familiar with the concept of a question which gives you a couple of sentences about a situation and then some possible solutions to sort it out. Some of these are sensible but, if you've been in this situation before, you'll be familiar with the voice in your head shouting "What! They'd all work!"; obviously you don't actually say it as you'd get kicked out as you're not allowed to speak but you get the gist.

Power BI is a really powerful and highly visual reporting tool. New pages have been added to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central that show the unposted and posted lines on documents, such as outstanding lines to ship, receive, invoice, or those that have already been shipped, invoiced etc. These were sometimes added as a modification in the past but are now much more easily accessible and can even be bookmarked on the Role Centre.
