Key Takeaways from The European Power Platform Conference 2024
Reading time: 2 - 4 minutes
Working in an ever-evolving industry means staying up to date with the latest product updates. It’s something that’s incredibly important when it comes to supporting our customers too which is why we sent several members of our CRM & Power Platform team to the European Power Platform Conference in Brussels. They got to hear from leading experts in the field and bring back even more knowledge and information, ready to further support our customers.
In this episode of Tecman Talks Dynamics Jason is joined by Jon, Ellie and Zak to reflect on their key takeaways from the conference and it’s clear that it was a worthwhile few days away for the team.
Power Automate offers incredible functionality and is the backbone of a lot of our own processes so the team are pretty comfortable with its uses, although there’s always room to discover new possibilities! Jon discusses that one of his key takeaways is how the process flows can be made more efficient through some small changes, all helping cut process runtimes and make flows easier to read, bringing some excellent customer benefits.
It wouldn’t be a Power Platform conference without delving into the world of Power Apps and a key area here is how and where more design can be brought into these apps to provide a better user experience, something the team found valuable. However, it’s not just making the apps look pretty, we’re seeing more functionality, more people experimenting with capabilities and with Copilot’s help, AI is making app builds that little bit easier. Plus, this goes beyond Power Apps as well. Zak and Jason attended sessions on Power Pages armed with questions and came away with further insight on where Copilot fits in the building and integration of Power Pages.
Copilot is becoming more and more prevalent in the Microsoft ecosystem, and we’re finding some great uses when it comes to Copilot for Microsoft Office Apps and Copilot in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, but Copilot doesn’t stop there. One topic the conference didn’t let up on was Copilot Studio, looking beyond the uses in individual apps and tools. We know AI is a hot topic right now but it’s important to acknowledge that the likes of Copilot aren’t here to remove jobs, they’re here to work alongside us. When discussing an example that was given in one session, Ellie hits the nail on the head – AI isn’t here to replace us; it’s here to back us up and make our daily grind a bit easier.
But that’s just scratching the surface when it comes to the team’s key takeaways.
The European Power Platform Conference has doubled in size from when the team attended in 2023 and with more and more organisations utilising Power Platform’s mighty tools it’s clear to see why. If we were to pick out just one key takeaway, it’s that Microsoft Power Platform is growing massively, with 330,000 organisations utilising the tools and we’re continuing to see that grow. If you’re not utilising Power Platform tools, now is the time to start!
Listen today, get the full run-through of the team's key takeaways and evolve your Power Platform Journey.
