Wolverhampton software and business process consultancy firm, Technology Management, has been named by Great Place to Work® as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ in the medium business category for 2017.
A fantastic achievement for a first-time entry, it reflects a great working environment and company culture. Technology Management has also doubled in size in the last 3 years and now employs almost 100 people.
The methodology behind the Great Place to Work ranking is one of the most rigorous available and uniquely comprises both an employee survey and an audit into an organisation’s management and HR practices. The award recognises the strength of Technology Management’s leadership and the range of innovative, creative and effective HR strategies they have in place to create a successful culture.
Technology Management’s Managing Director, James Crowter, is thrilled with the company’s achievement and said “We are so excited to have become a 'great place to work' on our first attempt – it’s exceeded our expectations. Technology Management’s obsession has always been to use technology to make our clients’ businesses more efficient. Critical to being able to consistently deliver on this mission are our people, their dedication and their knowledge of both business process and technology. Our people are our most valuable asset”.
“One of the key limiting factors to our continued growth is recruiting the right people. This award will help us to differentiate ourselves in attracting the best to join our great existing team – both recent graduates into our Graduate Training Scheme (about to start its fifth year of operation) as well as more experienced people into our project leading and management roles”.
James continues, “As the survey benchmarks us against other similar companies, we have also gained invaluable feedback and ideas on how to further improve our working environment – and have already introduced a number of new HR initiatives for existing staff. We cannot afford to be complacent as we work with companies that trade worldwide and can easily source and access consulting and technology from anywhere in the UK or indeed, the world.
James concludes, “Ultimately, it’s all about providing our customers with great service and results from an engaged, happy and consistent team, loving their job and enjoying where they work. There are no politics or prima donnas: we are one team and we all do what it takes to succeed on our client projects. Anyone will help anyone.”
Tom O’Byrne, Great Place to Work® CEO said: “We are delighted to see Technology Management on our Best Workplaces™ list this year. It is a validation of the strength of their leadership and their commitment to creating the kind of culture which attracts and retains the best talent and where people have pride in what they do and want to do their best. The hallmark of a great workplace like Technology Management is that their policies and practices are designed around the employee; this employee focus helps attract and retain the talent essential for driving and sustaining competitive performance. It is no coincidence that high trust organisations like Technology Management also tend to perform better than their peers”.
