We’re no flash in the pan!

You might have read that we recently become a “Great Place to Work” certified company for 2021. A great achievement that validates and celebrates the workplace culture we have built over the years and one we were very proud to have realised.
Fast forward two weeks and we are even prouder to announce that we have been ranked 20th out of 42 UK's Best Workplaces™ in Tech 2021 in the medium-sized company category. It’s the 3rd time we have made it on the list in 3 years of entering and our ranking is over a third higher than last time, despite more than double the number of entrants.
But we’re not resting our laurels, as our MD James explains, “It’s great to see the qualified results of the hard work, care and determination across all of our team to make a small company from the Midlands successfully compete with some of the biggest names in technology; I couldn’t be more proud.
But we’re not done yet; there is more we can, and will, do. Making Tecman a great place to work is a never-ending obsession. We succeed by attracting, developing and retaining the best. Improving is not optional”.
But why is UK's Best Workplaces™ in Tech 2021 so important to Tecman?
Learning from the experts
Firstly, Great Place to Work® are international workplace experts that have 30 years’ experience from across 50 different countries of understanding and assessing what makes a great workplace.
Plus each of their lists of “Best Workplaces” (split by country, industry sector and size of organisation) is hard-fought and comprehensively audited. So Great Place to Work’s assessment plus the feedback from the employee survey (that we complete as part of the process) gives us the info we need to continually improve on attracting and retaining the best talent.
Happy people means happy customers
On some of the walls in our lovely HQ (a beautiful old, and sympathetically refurbished church) plus our office in Gateshead, we have the following two images that together articulate the importance of a great workplace/company culture and, in particular, the ongoing staff training and development in the rapidly changing world of technology.
As was concluded in a recent Forbes article… “If you focus on making employees happy, in turn, they will make your customers happy. What’s happening on the inside of the organisation is felt on the outside by the customers.
