Price increase to the Dynamics 365 Commercial subscriptions – effective from 1st October 2024.

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced an update to commercial pricing on specific Dynamics 365 Apps which will kick in from 1st October 2024.

This is the first pricing update for Microsoft Dynamics 365 in more than five years and is seeing prices rise between approximately 10% and 12.5%. UK Pricing was released by Microsoft at the beginning of September and all impacted Tecman customers have been notified via email.

Which apps are impacted by the Dynamics 365 Price Increase?

Why is Microsoft raising prices?

With ongoing product innovation and improvement, it’s expected to see some price increases from time to time. We’ve already seen the recent introduction of major functionality like real-time marketing helping you deliver incredibly personalised marketing to prospects and customers, and additional customer insights to help guide your marketing campaigns. Now, we can’t talk about new functionality without mentioning Microsoft Copilot, helping you deliver exceptional customer care, speed up email composing, and complete admin tasks with just a few clicks, all helping you work smarter, reclaim time and collaborate seamlessly.

Plus, the Dynamics 365 2024 wave 2 release is right around the corner, and we’re about to see even more functionality in the Dynamics 365 product range. You can expect even more cutting-edge AI functionality through Copilot, additional functionality to make it easier than ever to unify and enhance customer data, clear contact insights in Sales, proactive prompting and new routing options in Customer Service, and so much more. We’ll be providing more information in upcoming episodes of Tecman Talks Dynamics, but if you really can’t wait to find out more, Microsoft’s 2024 wave 2 release plan is available on the Microsoft Learn site, which will give you a few extra snippets of what to expect.

When will I need to pay the increased price?

As mentioned above, these prices come into place from 1st October 2024. However, whether you are on a monthly contract or an annual subscription you will only be charged the new price from your next billing date i.e. on or after 1st October 2024. So, if you’re due to renew for another 12 months in September 2024 the price increase won’t impact you until September 2025. However, if you’re due to renew in November 2024, you’ll be put onto the new pricing from then.

What should I do now?

If you’re currently using one or more of the affected Dynamics 365 apps, there’s nothing you have to do, the price increase will come into place automatically. However, if your contract is up for renewal, or you’re looking to add additional users, consider renewing or adding those additional users before 1st October 2024 to lock in the current pricing for your next contract term. It could potentially put off the price increase for your business for up to just under a year, so it’s well worth seeing if you can renew before the price increase happens.

If you’re a Tecman customer, we’ll keep you up to date with what’s happening. Your Customer Engagement Manager is on hand to discuss the specifics of your pricing changes and how this will impact you, so make sure you get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

If you’re not a Tecman customer but you want to find out more, or get support for your Microsoft Dynamics 365 products, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
