Women in Dynamics

In the latest episode of Tecman Talks Dynamics, Liz, Matt and James discuss the reasons why women aren’t attracted to working within the tech industry and what changes have already been made. As well as what more can do done to really entice women to want to work in the industry. 

So, what is the problem with the IT & technology industry? Often it’s seen as male-dominated and inflexible, with long working hours, lots of travelling to customer premises and weekend work, but in 2022 that’s simply not the case. The world changed post-Covid and workers (in all industries, not just tech) evaluated their lives, working from home became acceptable, SaaS and cloud-based software came into its own so there’s less need to physically visit customers and flexible working hours allowed for a better work-life balance. Times have changed and roles are more flexible now so this isn’t the case anymore, but maybe those old perceptions are still there?  

Liz also discusses her own experiences of being a ‘Women in Dynamics’ and what businesses can do, above and beyond the box-ticking exercise of better maternity pay etc.
