Microsoft announce monthly payment option for BREP customers
Reading time: 2 - 3 minutes
One of the biggest requests we have had from our customers over the last few months is can our annual Dynamics 365 Business Central/Dynamics NAV On-Premises Maintenance (BREP) be paid in monthly instalments. Well, the big news from Microsoft is from June 1st, Microsoft is offering the ability to transfer the cost of the maintenance to a CSP licence, which allows splitting the payment over 12 months.
This flexible offer gives you Dual-Use Licence rights, so you can have a cloud instance of Dynamics 365 Business Central (Microsoft’s latest version of the software) should you wish to look at migrating in the future while continuing to run your existing software as it is today.
The demand for this has increased since early April to help Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central Perpetual licence users ease the burden of an annual charge. With the impact Covid-19 is having on businesses, this has been the number one wish list item. We are pleased to say Microsoft has listened and acted!
To be eligible, you need to have a current Enhancement Plan/Maintenance , and when that is due for renewal for a perpetual Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV licence, you can make the switch.
Microsoft says this is a 12-month offer that can then be extended for a further two years. At the end of that period, you can either move back to the traditional licence paid annually or move onto a transition licence to pay per user per month for Dynamics 365 Business Central.
It is essential to understand the following: if monthly payments are not maintained, you will be moved back to the Enhancement Plan and be responsible for all lapsed fees and penalties. We (Technology Management) will only accept payment for monthly fees by Direct Debit.
We wanted to get this news out to you quickly so as many customers can take advantage of it as possible; however, we still have a few questions that we are waiting on Microsoft to respond. When everything is finalised, we will run a webinar around this and provide further information in the coming weeks.
